Winter Skin Tips

As seasons change and the weather get colder, people will experience more than chapped lips and rosy cheeks! There are so many ways to help keep your skin protected, hydrated and in good shape as the days get colder! Follow these tips for easy Winter skin maintenance!

  • Use Hyaluronic acid every morning AND night.

Our skin naturally loses water every day so we should be doing as much as we can to replace it! Out bodies are made up of mostly water therefore it needs water to function and let serums pass into the skin, and dirt and debris out! Using a hydrating serum like hyaluronic acid every day AM and PM will ensure your skin is healthy, hydrated and glowing! One of my absolute favorites is Glymed’s Ultra Hydrogel.

  • Moisturize with a heavier moisturizer.

The cold weather dries out all skin types a little more than normal! Depending on your current skin type, whether you are dry, oily, combo or normal, check with your esthetician and adjust to a slightly more thick moisturizer! If you are acne prone, there are some options- check with your esthetician before though in case you are on a treatment plan!

  • Keep your skin protected every day with SPF even when it’s cold and overcast.

The sun is the skin’s worst enemy! The Sun’s UV rays can and do penetrate through overcast, through windows and they are also still active in WINTER! Not just Summer! Staying protected will help keep your skin healthy and protected from winter’s harsh reflective rays.

  • Don’t forget your hands and lips!

Lips and hands have NO peach fuzz and are different skin than that of the face! This skin gets dry, flaky and chapped extremely fast and needs moisture. They also are susceptible to sunburn and faster aging (esp the hands!). Keep a the skin safe and protected from chapping and suburn with a lip balm & SPF and a thick hand cream followed by spf in the morning and reapply during the day! My absolute fave SPF is Glymed’s Hydrating Lip Balm. Need an amazing hand cream? Glymed’s Hydrating Hand & Body lotion hydrates and moisturizes!
